Our Emergency Department is the primary referral centre for the Barwon South West region, with a catchment of over 360 000 people. We see over 64 000 patients each year, including both adults and children, and the department is equipped to receive high acuity patients including major traumas and acute strokes.

This website serves as a learning platform for our Emergency nurses and trainees and the content is intended for the internal use of our staff. The information presented here should not be relied upon as a source of medical information or for clinical decisions. We have nevertheless left much of our content available for unrestricted access in the spirit of free open access medical education (FOAM).
