The LOGIQ e is kept in the equipment room opposite T16 where it should be plugged in at all times. It is equipped with curvilinear, small parts and echocardiogram probes.
To select a probe, use the or or buttons on the keyboard.
Be patient. It often takes about 5 to 10 seconds to load the selected probe after pushing the button.
How to start a new study
Press the button to the left of the trackball.
Click on ‘New Patient’.
Select the exam category from the tabs.
Enter the patient details.
Remember to add your initials after the patient UR number (eg. 000000HRH). This will help you to easily find your studies later.
Click ‘Register’.
Click ‘Exit’.
How to snapshot and store your images
Snapshots must be associated with a specific patient so it is best to enter patient details every time you start to scan.
Studies on this machine cannot be looked up by ‘Performing clinician’. The best way to identify studies as your own for easy review later is to add your initials after the patient UR number (eg. 000000HRH).
To capture a still image, press then .
To capture a short clip, press then use the trackball to set the start frame and end frame. Press to capture.
When you finish your study click ‘End Exam’. Select the images you wish to store and then click ‘Permanent Store’.
How to download your images
Plug your USB flash drive in to one of the slots on the left side of the laptop.
Press the button to the left of the trackball.
Click on ‘Data Transfer’in the top left of the screen.
Select ‘Export’ under the ‘Task’ menu on the left side of the screen.
Select ‘USB Drive I’ in the ‘To:’dropdown box on the left side of the screen.
Select the studies that you wish to export. You can use the and keys to select multiple studies.
The LOGIQ e machine does not allow users to build a list of studies using the ‘Performing clinician’ field. It is best to add your initials after the patient UR number (eg. 000000HRH) at the time of performing each scan.
Click on ‘Transfer’ to begin the download.

Remember to delete your studies from the machine after you have finished. This frees up space on the machine and prevents doubling up when you are downloading again in the future.
